Documentary & Street Portraits

After ten years of traveling around with my camera, I became captivated by photographing people. Looking at humanity as ar, each person has their own story. t. I was fascinated by colourful culture, unfamiliar faces, and various traditions. I also fell in love with being able to hear and share these people's organic stories. Using visual story-telling with my work, to help share a message.

Marco, 75 years old, San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala

Marco works daily in the town of San Pedro working a job I saw many doing. He would carry the heavy washing baskets from the lake up the steep hills of the indigenous villages around Lake Atitlan. Marco spoke little Spanish but mostly the local language of Tzʼutujil . A Mayan language spoken by the Tzʼutujil people in the region to the south of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. Marco spends all day walking up and down and traveling across other villages to work manual labour for £4.00 a day.
