Dia de los Muertos

Exhibition

Day of the dead is a combination between catholic and indigenous traditions, with a joyful and rich celebration of those dearly departed. Spread across 4 days, the build up and preparations can start weeks, if not months in advanced.

The costumes, la Catrinas, decor, skeleton face paint, colours and alters are mesmerising, with everyone heavily involved.

in 2021, I decided to spend the festival photographing in Oaxaca city. All images are on a 35mm lens, taken on the streets from October 28th-November 2nd 2021 in Oaxaca city, Mexico.

All images are available for prints, shipped worldwide.
